Fifa 2006

This shall be the one and only entry about the Fifa World Cup 2006.

I know zilch about soccer, except the names of a few cute players.

I scoff outwardly at those who stay up late to watch the matches, deriding their obsessiveness.
I'm not into soccer, said I, the proud-unaffected-by-soccer-fever smarty pants.

but

I stayed up to watch England vs Portugal, and nearly missing church in the morning,
I rooted for England because I was only familar with Beckham,
I checked out the remaining schedule of the quarter/semi-finals,
and I'm going to watch the final match between Italy and France later!

just because,

I want to be part of the hype and soccer-conversations.

I'm sucha poseur.
