On Sunday, was the Dip of Life! The whole church went to Big Splash and held a Baptism service right there, at the function room and in the pool where the baptism candidates were dipped in.
my dear Elizabeth got baptized!
or go here if you can't play the above video.
And what a milestone too. To think that 3 years ago, she had come for the same baptism service, to witness Koko's baptism, and who would've thought (okay, maybe God did), that she herself would get dipped in the same fashion! Her journey is really amazing and I'm glad that I got to celebrate this very symbolic event in her life, with her and the rest of the church!
The weather was fabulous! Okay, scorching if I might be honest. I had a baptism-day tan on my shoulders already. But it was also perfect for such a day like yesterday. And for lots of photo opportunities, nice and bright!
Unfortunately, there're no pictures of the blading session because I was afraid to carry my camera while I bladed, lest I fall and crush it.
It was a mad rush after I took off my blades, as we got a ride from CW home, and then washing off a day's grime and changing into my dinner clothes, for a night out with the girls and some friends.
Dinner was at the Baccarat Restaurant, situated along Bras Basah road at Plaza by The Park, for those who are like me, who hasn't heard of Plaza by The Park, it's actually the building beside Hotel Rendezvous, with the big neon-lit Kopitiam foodcourt on the first floor.
It was a spread at the Baccarat's buffet dinner! My tummy was growling, since I'd only nibbled during lunch admist making conversations , and blading had already burned away whatever fats there were. It was food, glorious food. Sashimi, oysters, herbal soups, and even rojak! were a just a few of the delicacies laid out. I savoured the freshness of the sashimi and went for seconds and thirds. I couldn't help myself. And choco fondue, again!
It was a nice time, as I got to know ZM, Koko's boyfriend much better too. Since he was seated right opposite me, and also got to know Jacq, Caleb's girlfriend a lot more too. We spent a good 2 hours just eating, sharing stories and jokes across the table. Caleb and Bonny were seated quite close to one another, right at the other end. And their laughter reverberated across the table, and I'd laugh along, now knowing what the joke is about, but because it's just impossible not to be infected by their hearty laughters.
After the sumptuous meal. We proceeded to The Coffee Connoisseur at Hotel Rendezvous, to chill. Again, I was seated in the same position, at the end of the table, and across ZAN, so I really got to know him a lot better that night. And I also developed developed a little "waist sour", an ache of the waist, from having to turn to the rest of the table to listen to them.
We talked. laughed. talked. laughed.talked.Then, we decided to take more pictures. Someone came up with the idea to do spontaneous shots, the kind that leaves you little time to pose nice nice. So we tried a few shots in the restaurant, to the stares of the other patrons. We all agreed to take the "photo shoot" outside, where it wasn't so crowded, as it was already past midnight. That was really really fun.
I'm glad that Jacq enjoyed herself even though it was the first time she's meeting with us in such a setting, and poor girl, she was "forced" to participate in our whacked out shots, but she was so game!
When it all ended, we spent a good half-hour and maybe slightly more, just trying to get a cab home. In Singapore, always wait at the taxi stands.
